Insufficient power suitable for computer accessories and peripherals

Bought a pair for school. I previously bought the simpler version and it worked fine. However, this version must have its own power supply to function properly. We use Chromebooks, if you plug it in and connect your Chromecast (wirelessly) to the projector it works pretty well, a little weak. However, if you're using HDMI, the device might not even turn on or might start flickering when powered by the Chromebook. Plugging into an outlet with a standard USB charger doesn't improve the situation. You'll need to use something like Anker's fast charger to get the amps you need. I found the USB-c chomebook charger works the best. This device urgently needs its own power source.

Pros
  • HDMI and USB dual mode document camera: direct HDMI connection to a TV, monitor or projector and simple plug-and-play USB connection to a computer. It works on Mac, Windows PC and Chromebook and is compatible with various third-party software. It doubles as a webcam for video calls. (Please note the VZ-R does not include an HDMI cable and power supply.)
Cons
  • Very expensive
