I had to insert bendable wire into the ribbon sleeve around the brim to get this hat to form into the desired shape. The circumference of the crown is 23.5” - meaning the diameter is 7.5” - which is exceptionally large. Yes, there’s a "fit band with ribbon” inside - but the ribbon is satin, and doesn’t hold very well. Also, the crown is round rather than the oval of better-constructed hats. It’s also a whopping 6” deep - and while that does provide ventilation space, it looks kind-of silly on a small head. The wide, decorative ribbon on the outside is sewn and glued-on, so you’ll have some work on your hands if you want to adjust it (mine tore). The white elastic chin strap is unflattering and poorly placed - I had to re-set that, too. Overall, it’s a decent value for the price - but unless you’re an amazon sized woman, (pardon the pun) be prepared to spend some time fussing with it.
