
I wanted to install a timer (see attached picture) on a low voltage/mV fireplace insert that was activated by a traditional toggle switch. I pulled 120 volts into the fireplace mug's junction box from a nearby switch. I then hooked up the relay and timer as shown in the attached schematic. Works perfectly, now I can just press the timer button and the fireplace will light up for that time. Fitting the switch and relay into a single box was EXTREMELY tight and required the plastic bracket to be "dog-eared". The top and bottom are valid, but the switch and relay all fit (hardly, and it takes some effort to fit everything).
