Review on Delta Essa Matte Black Bar Faucet with Pull Down Sprayer - Single Hole, Wet Bar and Prep Sink Faucet, Kitchen Faucet in Matte Black Finish - Model 9913-BL-DST by Pete Brown

I like the touch technology, great atomizer, great water pressure. Switch to touch technology.

We do kitchen renovations. We do it ourselves, so we are dealing with a large number of elongated "in the middle". Since there are many options to buy here, I bought this model: (Delta Faucet 9913T-AR-DST Essa Single Handle Bar/Prep Faucet with Touch2O Technology and MagnaTite Dock, Arctic Stainless $187.94 - please note that prices for such things often vary.. I've also seen this model in the $250 range at Revain). I liked the sink but was ultimately dissatisfied with the IKEA faucet in terms of functionality. The IKEA faucet didn't have enough angles so the water basically went straight down the drain so we had to lean a lot further towards the sink just to wash our hands or do something. Also, the sprayer wasn't as powerful as we would like, although our water pressure is fine. The Delta faucet is great. My husband found the faucet easy to install. We have dispensed with a base plate (so-called overlay). To me, a base plate would look out of place on a farmhouse sink with an apron. Maybe there are sinks where it would look right, but not mine. You can leave the faucet on and then touch the faucet anywhere other than the retractable part of the nozzle to turn the faucet on or off. At first we had drips after the faucet was closed, but that was because we didn't pull the faucet all the way back to the on position. When fully on, it turns on at full strength and it doesn't drip when we turn it off. The sprayer is excellent, the hose is long. It also tucks away and locks in place perfectly with the dock locking mechanism. I've seen similar faucets where people thought the "eye" at the base was a sensor, similar to the automatic faucets found in some public sinks. it is not what it is, obviously. The color on the "sensor" is blue when the color is cold. It's red when it's hot. It's somewhere in the middle of a red-blue, but not quite a mixed purple unless it's 100% neither cold nor hot. The sensor only lights up when water is being supplied. Oh I didn't know the batteries would come with the sensor pack so that was a pleasant surprise. It's not as tall as the first IKEA faucet, but that's okay. This actually makes accessing the window easier as it is only 14.5 inches high. We've only had it installed for a few weeks, but I can already tell you that as much as I love it, the only issue I have is the visuals. how blotchy it gets. Unfortunately, it's not stain-resistant. Another thing is that when I fill a pot with water, I accidentally turn off the water because the pot hits the faucet. In this way, the faucet can even be influenced by touching the pan and not just by your hand. I just tried to touch the faucet in the bathroom which is so funny to me! I love the ease of touching the faucet with my hands covered. It's so convenient. If you're wondering if it's worth it, then yes. If you consider the price of a new faucet and realize that one with sensor technology costs less than some faucets without, you should buy it! Overall happy with this purchase. I'm glad to have found the same Delta faucet at Revain for a much lower price than the stores for sale. Sorry for the "ugly look without an apron" in my photos, but then again. . .remodel.EDIT: It's been about 5 months and we still haven't had to change batteries and the faucet is used daily. EDIT: We swapped out the batteries over the week of Christmas so we're looking at an almost nine month expiration date. The faucet started flashing when we tapped it, with colors flashing from blue to red to blue to red. It was a sign. So if there are three people in the house and they all use the tap regularly, I don't think people really need an adapter. I think the batteries will suit you well.
