Overall I am very happy with this back scratcher. The wood is strong, not like the flimsy wood my parents used growing up. It looks solidly built and is long enough to reach different areas of the back. Although I like the side with the back scratcher, the hammer/hammer end came loose and came off easily. This may have been the case with mine, but if you plan on using this end you should check how securely it is connected before using it. It's not threaded or screwed in, just wedged and glued on, so it's not a very secure mount for what it's supposed to be. This is why I docked the star - it shouldn't separate so easily. I could maybe glue it back but for now I've decided to leave the back as is.
