Biscuit is primarily used for alignment and fit. A tight fit is crucial. The Fried Corporation doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the exact tolerances, or they just don't care. The slots on the two Frued cookie connector blades I purchased were so large that the cookies would float in the slots making it impossible to build tightly and accurately. I had to send them in and the grinder would regrow the carbide tips at a cost in excess of the cost of the blades themselves. I think you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and buy a quality knife from Lamello or anyone who values quality and precision.
