First of all, do not take negative reviews for something negative about the quality of this accessory. The reviewers themselves accidentally ordered the wrong ones or accidentally sent the wrong size, I don't know and I don't care. Chromed brass fittings, black anodized aluminum rings. Tighten the fittings in the water block, radiator, pump, etc. There are 3 O-rings that seal the pipe, 2 in the fitting and 1 that goes through the pipe and compresses when the outer ring is tightened to secure the pipe and seal the fitting, and there is an O- Ring that seals the fitting to the block. There is also a spare 16mm O-ring should you need to replace any of the pipe seals. They are very tight on the pipe even before the ring is tightened. Once you tighten the outer collar, the hose is secured and not going anywhere. I'm happy with them.
