Review on Optimized Single Leaf Betta Bed Hammock: Lightweight, Realistic, BPA-Free, Practical, Comfortable, and Safe Resting Spot for Betta Fish by Lindsay Parker

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Broken blades, wire protruding

I bought these after reading how to create a shallow ecosystem that mimics the natural habitat of bettas. When I received the sheets, I first washed them with water and then started to bend them slightly. With 2 blades, this action immediately resulted in the wire sticking out in the center of the blade. It only protruded a little, but I was worried because the betta's fins don't tolerate sharp objects. I was very upset and thought I couldn't use the leaves. I decided to pull the wire out completely (as you can see in the photos). It went quite well, but I had to do it with 2 out of 4 sheets. I was softer on shaping the remaining 2 leaves, but after 2 bowl cleanings and a water change, one of the wires is starting to stick out a bit. I am very disappointed because I now have 3 flat sheets. Still, I'm giving this 3 stars because they still look good in the aquarium (photo of the aquarium before the wires broke) and actually because my Betta likes them! The only sheet I can still bend, I place less than an inch from the top of the bowl and bend it into a slight "U" shape, and Mr. Jupiter actually sleeps on that sheet at night. I hold my fists tight so the last bending sheet doesn't give up!
