I put these on a little tree by the street during the holidays. I had no idea there were so many different settings! You can set them to be on all the time or many variations of flashing or twinkling. They worked really well even through many heavy rain storms. The only thing to be careful about is putting the solar panel so it gets lots of daylight, but also isn't hit by passing headlights or street lights. The sensor will turn the lights out if there is too much light. It took me a while to figure out that the lights were going out with every passing car! I got some similar lights from a more expensive company and the wire broke immediately. These were less expensive and better quality :-)
