I would buy these switches again!

I had to replace the switches on my 2002 Ranger as the button surface is usually cracked and peeling. I have continued to endure the problem due to the cost of purchasing a replacement. When prices suddenly fell more than half of their previous levels. I was concerned that the quality might be badly compromised, but I went ahead and ordered replacement switches. The switches arrived on time (in time for Hawaii, at least) and looked and felt good. I looked up the repair on youtube and then installed the switches. I didn't fully follow the installation in the youtube video. Instead of taking the steering wheel off, I just carefully unplugged the old switches from the wiring harness and plugged in the new ones. I think the whole work took about 20-30 minutes, not counting the time waiting for the system to completely unload. Power supply after disconnecting the battery. Don't skip this step! Your airbag could explode and cause serious problems with your appearance and your life! All functions worked well and the switches felt good. I think the switch lighting could be a bit dimmer than factory, but close enough to the price. As a precaution, if you go down the route of simply swapping out the switches instead of swapping out the wiring harness, be VERY careful when removing the wires from the switch. They are very fragile. Just take your time and gently pull, wiggle the wires, they will come out.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Hard to say
