I have quite a few outlets and these items have allowed me to organize my outlets very effectively. To be honest there are sockets that I forgot because I didn't have a central place to stash them before. Many sockets have been lying around in boxes for years without getting used to them. While nothing is perfect, these organizers hold my tall/deep sockets without bothering me at all. I used to use metal organizers, but I prefer them for my frequently used heads for a number of reasons. the n-go detection factor is high. Since many of my sets only have 8-10 sockets, the organizer's shorter stem length is very welcome, allowing more sets to be used on more stems rather than trying to cram a few sets onto a long stem to make better use of my space . Having had metal organizers before, I still use metal rods when I need length, but that's a minority for me. Plus, the short stems fit in a portable work bag so I can easily grab the socket kit if I need to rush to the rental for repairs/maintenance. 2) I don't use outlets daily, and I don't store outlets where UV rays hit them, so I'm sure the .ABS plastic will last for years. It doesn't feel cheap and is similar in hardness to the ABS plastic pipes used for gutters. The lower cost of materials causes me to buy more than the metals I bought. Because the plastic is molded and also softer than metal, the sockets turn on and off more smoothly than my metal options, which tend to have sharp edges and snag my sockets and hands. A ball bearing in each plastic holder eliminates the worry that the plastic is too soft to hold heavier heads. 3) Flat plastic bar and rubber bumpers make it easy to place the heads face up on the work surface. It's good compared to my metal. Plus, rubber/plastic means fewer worries about tool scratching surfaces. 4) I really like the color coding. Purchasing two orders total allowed me to mix/match color coding and socket holder size to keep everything organized using one color (blue) for metric units and another (red) for SAE which is also a large one represents an improvement over my metal holders. .
