If you're replacing old 3" cans like I did, take the 3.5 that these bulbs come in. They completely cover the hole, the 3" bulbs don't. The lamps have a diffuser so you don't see imperfections on your wall and don't dazzle you. The connection is easy, I preferred to use the rotatable plugs instead of the push pins that came with it. The flashlight itself is lightweight and very easy to install into a hole thanks to the strong springs that hold it in place and it sits flush with no gaps. All in all it's a great value, my hardware store had one of these for $18 so do the math. I am very happy that I will be buying more and find that they are great with dimmer and bright
