Not yet needed. My Rhino 90 degree hard plastic bow has always worked. It is a flexible and heavy hard rubber. It will definitely be able to seal itself alongside whatever you come across. If I'm ever at a campsite that needs something like this. This will work way better than the hard plastic donuts I've seen here. It doesn't smell strongly of rubber to me. For the price, this is definitely something I'm willing to pick up just in case. Unless, for some reason, you don't have the opaque 90 degree plastic thing that came with my hose. This is ideal for sealing the hose in the sewer hole. Your hose will be fed out directly. I would definitely recommend the plastic 90 degrees if you don't have anything.
