Review on Optimized for SEO: Osprey Duro 15 Running Hydration Vest - Designed for Men by Albert Tucker

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great specs but big.

Initial Rating (4 Stars): I've used the Osprey Duro 1.5 and love it, but I've ordered a larger pack for my upcoming multi-day ultramarathon. this new backpack in a short run but it's almost as comfortable as I expected. It does feel a bit loose at the top/back of the shoulders but I think once I've fully filled my bladder and stuffed some of the pockets with gear the fit will be better. While the fit wasn't as snug as I'm used to from the 1.5, the pack didn't bounce noticeably and I found it more comfortable than other brands I've carried. for long hikes and ultramarathons with long distances between the auxiliary points. Osprey has improved the sternum clamps from last year's model. Last year the model had weird clips that were very difficult to turn on and off and adjust (judging from all the reviews I've read). This year the model used the easy-to-use clip design I had in my 1.5 backpack. The only downside (and actually a minor inconvenience) is the clip-on straps on the back. They extend across the pockets and you must undo/unclip them to unzip and access the back pockets. It's not a deal breaker, but hopefully Osprey can come up with a better system for next year's model. It comes with a 2.5 liter bottle, not the 1.5 liter bottle as advertised (at least that's what was advertised when I ordered it). I will update my review in a few months. Updated Rating (3 Stars): After another run, this vest just doesn't fit. If I wore multiple layers (in winter) that would be fine, but as the day got warmer and I only wore one layer, it was too big. I'm fairly skinny (6'0" and 175 lbs with an above average bust), I had the chest straps 100% tight and they were still too big in the shoulders/neck (and I ordered the smallest size). I had no pockets full of gear and maybe that would have helped but I don't want to always carry unnecessary gear just to store it in. Love all the pockets and storage the vest has but unfortunately it's too bouncy to be usable.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
