I bought it as a replacement for the Kit lens. Fully justified the investment and expectations. For a beginner, that's it. Great GRIP! Autofocus works great (even when photographing through any obstacles - such as cage bars). I think that with its help you can easily bring to life all your ideas for artistic photography - portraits, landscapes are excellent! Yes, you can’t really shoot a report with them, although with proper skill you can go for it. There is no ultrasonic motor in it, so it’s pointless to demand fast autofocus and noiselessness from it! I photographed with it at -25 - my hands were stiff, and it worked like a clock! PS: take a lens hood (canon es-62) right away!
