I recently bought a Freud 1-1/4" slot cutter but I found it was too small for my job so I ordered it. And there makes a big difference in sharpness. Freud's carbide is easily sharp enough to cut a finger or whatever works with it, it doesn't feel completely blunt, but it's not nearly as sharp , as I would expect from a new carbide It also had quite a bit of strong smelling lube on it which Freud didn't have either and I suppose it's unhealthy I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to try it or not but I'm tending to ship it back and get another 2" stamp/stamp. Mechanically it looks fine. Will update if I decide to give my router a chance.
