NOT for straightening boards!

This cutter was too dull to do a good panel leveling job on hardwood. We used it for end cutting boards. Lots of micro break and ledger lines. Not even sanding could remove the pits created by this bit. But we thought it was up to us, our technique, or we were pushing the approach too much. We bought a cutter from Freud and can't believe the AMAZING difference. This bit is returned. Now I know that 2" surface drill bit is too dull to do what we need. Spend a little more and save your efforts to

Came not very sharp

I recently bought a Freud 1-1/4" slot cutter but I found it was too small for my job so I ordered it. And there makes a big difference in sharpness. Freud's carbide is easily sharp enough to cut a finger or whatever works with it, it doesn't feel completely blunt, but it's not nearly as sharp , as I would expect from a new carbide It also had quite a bit of strong smelling lube on it which Freud didn't have either and I suppose it's unhealthy I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to try it or

Great price for a well made hardfacing tip

I recently purchased a 2" hardfacing tip for finishing two 5ft x 10ft Claro walnut boards. Using the factory slab straightening skis, we were able to align the two slabs with literally thousands of back and forth passes. the racquet held up very well. I actually bought 2 of these. One for the main part of the work and one for the last pass. after all that stuff the first bit was jaded but not too reasonable for the workload. By fitting a fresh nozzle to the jig we were able to achieve such a…

Arrived not very sharp

I recently bought a Freud 1-1/4" Stemmer but decided it was too small for what I do so I ordered one too It's a huge difference in sharpness from the start, the Freudian carbide is easily sharp enough to cut a finger or whatever works with it, it doesn't feel totally dull, but it's nowhere near that sharp as I would expect a new carbide cutting tool the blade should be It also had quite a bit of strong smelling lube on it which Freud didn't have either and I think it's unhealthy I haven't…

Works as expected for router bits

I was hesitant to buy a router bit this cheap. I'm leveling an 8 inch sheet of hardwood to make a coffee table. It worked very well. I cut the slab 2″ to 6″ and may have even gone a little thinner. The bit worked very well in my large Bosch router with extension that I bought with the bit. The bit cuts well at nearly 1/4 inch per pass. I wasn't trying to go deep. The finished cut surfaces are absolutely smooth, but must be ground. I expected that. I'm not sure how much better an expensive…
