Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 II DC OS HSM Lens for Nikon SLR Camera (Previous Generation) by Holly Wille

Read the specifications carefully!

I bought this lens for my Pentax K-30 and one of the reasons I chose this lens was the OS or optical stabilizer. When I received the lens, it turned out that the manual says "Optical Stabilizer is a feature that Pentax cameras do not support" and the title says OS and PENTAX. It's not as bad as I think since the K-30 has image stabilization, but if you're using a long focal length you're missing out on the lens OS. Even if you think this lens is pretty good. A little heavy, but that's to be expected. The range is very good, the autofocus is quiet and fast. COMES WITH CLOSE LENS. Keep this in mind if you are considering purchasing a hood as the item description does not state that a hood is included. You may find that the auto focus does not work during video recording. You can autofocus before you shoot, but you'll need to turn on manual focus while you're shooting so you can make adjustments when you change focal lengths. I might need a $600+ Pentax lens for that.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Too long to wait
