SIGMA 18-200mm zoom lens for Canon DSLR

Bought this lens from Revain. Shipping was fast and the item arrived in good condition in secure packaging. I use this lens with my Canon T3i. It's been about a week since I received this lens. Overall, color reproduction and image quality are very good in the 18-200mm range. I am very happy with the performance of this lens. However, it should be noted that the motor of this lens is a bit noisy and you can hear it at times. It doesn't bother me at all. The quality finish and performance make…

Read the specifications carefully!

I bought this lens for my Pentax K-30 and one of the reasons I chose this lens was the OS or optical stabilizer. When I received the lens, it turned out that the manual says "Optical Stabilizer is a feature that Pentax cameras do not support" and the title says OS and PENTAX. It's not as bad as I think since the K-30 has image stabilization, but if you're using a long focal length you're missing out on the lens OS. Even if you think this lens is pretty good. A little heavy, but that's to be…

I liked first sigma so much I bought it

When I'm in my studio I usually use a Canon EOS 5D Mark III full frame 22.3 MP 1080p Full HD CMOS camera Video Mode Digital SLR Camera (Body ) and L are glassy solid numbers, but when I go on a private trip and shoot outdoors I take this lens and a Canon EOS REBEL T4i 18.0 MP CMOS digital camera with a 3-inch -Touch screen and Full HD movie mode (frame only). Sometimes a professional rig gets more publicity than it's worth, so I put together a consumer rig that looks like the average tourist (I

Good overall photo quality, very sensitive focus at infinity

This Sigma lens is perfectly packaged and fits perfectly on my Sony ILCA-68 A-mount camera. The fit and finish is excellent and the lens looks very well put together. I use it as an everyday lens and am very happy with the speed of the autofocus and the photos it takes in general settings. I deducted a star because the lens is VERY difficult to focus at 200mm; either with autofocus and especially with manual focus. The focus ring rotates somewhat freely, and less than a millimeter movement…

I don't usually like lenses in this class.

Mostly something (wide angle or zoom end) suffers, but this lens beats. Excellent image quality throughout. I picked it up after seeing it reviewed in Popular Photography. Also, while doing my homework online, I saw that many had more positive reviews than the Canon 28-135 USM. I actually have a 28-135 and am pretty sure I will be selling it now that I have this gem in my hands. The extra 10mm on the wide end really helps. Do your homework for yourself and you'll find that this can be a great…

Excellent value for money for a travel lens

I bought this lens with some skepticism due to so many attacks on Sigma and its increased aperture to 6.3. However, I have other "good" special occasion lenses for my D7000 and didn't want to spend money on a Nikon 18-200 just because I thought it was an all-round walking lens, so I gave the Sigma a try. (Just so you know I'm not cheap when it comes to lenses myself, I also have a Nikon 16-35 VR, 24-120 VR, 105mm DC, 105mm VR Macro, 50mm f/1.4, 85 mm 1.8 and 80-200 2.8.) I used it yesterday for
