Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 II DC OS HSM Lens for Nikon SLR Camera (Previous Generation) by Jessica Williams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good overall photo quality, very sensitive focus at infinity

This Sigma lens is perfectly packaged and fits perfectly on my Sony ILCA-68 A-mount camera. The fit and finish is excellent and the lens looks very well put together. I use it as an everyday lens and am very happy with the speed of the autofocus and the photos it takes in general settings. I deducted a star because the lens is VERY difficult to focus at 200mm; either with autofocus and especially with manual focus. The focus ring rotates somewhat freely, and less than a millimeter movement results in blurry photos. I've taken many test shots of the moon and find it tiring to aim and focus accurately. Here's the thing: It's not an expensive lens, it didn't cost $800-$2000, so I don't expect that kind of accuracy. I'm on a budget and looking for quality at reasonable prices. I even microfocused with this lens to ensure my camera got the job done with very little tweaking. Another thing that is uncomfortable for me, at least, is that the zoom rotates against one of my other lenses, causing me to try to rotate the zoom only to find it's against the lock and end . Nothing special and I probably wouldn't deduct points for this issue. All in all, this is a good choice if you're looking for an everyday lens with a wide angle of view and a moderate telephoto lens on a budget.
