I was very disappointed that the new Jeep JLU 2020 has such poor lighting in the trunk. I always leave early and arrive late on jeep trips - and I don't see what's going on in the back of the jeep. I also added a folding table to the tailgate and would it be nice after dark if the jeep could illuminate this area? So I looked around and saw this light bar (and competitors) on YouTube. At Revain, I chose this lightbar over others because of the price and quality. For example I really like that they have a continuous strip of double sided tape that is very sticky to keep the light perfectly in place. and thought there should be a slightly cleaner way to adjust the lights. Several people have mentioned nicks on the cover/wire for the rear wiper (and rear defroster element power wire). It was a brilliant idea. What I haven't seen are others using a fiberglass loom running from the window to the jeep. No need to use all the included self-adhesive zip tie holders and you don't need to see any wires! I routed the cable down to the driver's rear plastic side cover and connected the power supply to a 12V outlet. I double-sided tape the remote to the power tank bracket that holds the fire extinguisher. (The power supply is elsewhere). So, when all is said and done, you won't see any wires - it's completely hygienic, and there's nothing to accidentally catch and dislodge as you rock the mechanism back and forth. A gentleman on the internet pulled off a clever trick by flipping a switch. a switch with a red cover - like on the missile fire control circuits (that was clever). Another gentleman installed a reed switch (magnetic switch) and placed a strong small magnet on the tailgate. The light came on when the tailgate was opened. These are all great ideas and we are only limited by our imagination. The bottom line is that this is a good Jeep and I wanted it to look really stylish. Any upgrades I've installed, I've tried very hard to make them appear factory like. I would definitely get the light again! It solves a huge problem for me, doesn't cost that much and probably should have been included in the jeep tail compartment in the first place!
