Something of a textured, non-slip design.
They fit my 2017 Focus very well and they cover the dead center of the pedal, that part was important. They seem to grab the rug pretty well with minimal movement. The driver's side isn't as tight as it could be, but don't worry, they won't move. Just plug it in, so I can't comment on cleanliness or durability.
