I used this on a small 3x5 foot rug that sits in front of my fireplace. The carpet was new from Lowes. When I sprayed it on the carpet it smelled like sulfur strong enough to cover the whole house. I put the carpet in the garage because of the smell. After the smell hadn't dissipated for a couple of days I left the rug in direct sunlight for two days hoping it would speed up the process and it worked. Most of the degassing was completed in two days and I was able to put the carpet back inside. There was a slight odor which was completely gone after another 1-2 weeks.
