For the price it's easy and honestly you can't beat it. Period. I just moved to southern Michigan and was concerned that my tall friend, my Tazzie-Bert, would freeze because he is a black lab mix with short black hair. On a tight handicap budget (cancer wreaked havoc on my body) I couldn't afford the $40-50 overcoats that were in local stores. And most of the time the front legs had to slip through the coat to put it on (which I don't think my Taz would like). I needed to find something warm that was easy to put on and wouldn't bother my pup. I treat my puppies exactly as I would like to be treated myself, with respect, dignity and love. I refuse to force them to learn tricks and such. anyone. Saw it online here @Revain and thought it might be just the coat I need budget wise but my Taz still has the protection it needs. I ordered the largest as he has a 40 inch chest (he's a big gun). Of course, I was concerned that it wouldn't fit his chest, but since there weren't any other acceptable options, I threw caution to the wind. Well, let me just say that my game REALLY paid off. It has been nicely packaged in durable plastic and hangs on its own decorative hanger. I thought it was a nice touch. It only took 20 seconds to put on (which my badly damaged and barely working hands appreciated), and the best part is that it really comfortably covered his entire back and neck and didn't annoy him like most other things. He settled in in seconds and was even running around the garden (in 40 degree weather) with my other dog (who was very interested in his new fur (she doesn't need it - she has long thick hair and she LOVES snow) ) I knew the coat would be long on his back and it was. I plan to secure this with velcro which I will put back there to fold the coat to a more comfortable place on his back and being able to hold it in place.Easy $1 solution Again, I knew it was going to be a long time and it didn't affect my purchase. I was ONLY concerned that he had a chest or two. Oh, and in case you didn't get it these coats have a nice velcro pocket at the back where you can stash things like bait bags and such, and an opening where you can insert a leash clip without compromising the protection of the coat. I found both, and the other was a pleasant - and practical - surprise. OK, it was mentioned in the description, but I was too focused on sizing to really take notice. So if you doubt that, I would advise you to take the plunge. Of course you could buy more expensive ones, but I would argue that they won't do any better to protect your dog's back from the wind and cold, nor will they have more practical features like a pocket and clip. Why pay more when you can get EVERYTHING at an incredibly low price?!
