Review on Greenworks 40V 300W Portablе Cordless Power Inverter IV40A00 by Chris Floyd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Also fits Ryobi (with some tweaks)

I used this to make my own version of the Ryobi 300w 40v inverter Ryobi sells their own but I bought 3 and returned them within 2 weeks . Everything went wrong, one of them almost caught fire, ha! Oops! The Greenworks inverter uses only 2 wires on the plug. positive and negative. No smarts to connect to the battery. So give it 40V and it just works. I cut off the Greenworks connector, plugged in the Ryobi connector and blamo! Ryobi Inverter! What makes it really safe is that Ryobis batteries have built-in protection. So if you select too many watts, the battery will shut itself off. Is the voltage getting too low? The battery turns itself off. They're actually pretty good. Also, this inverter is labeled 300W, but I was able to pull 350! The fan runs very slowly without load and speeds up when the load increases. It's not really loud. The inverter is an all-metal construction. Unlike the all-plastic version of Ryobis. USB really works! 2 of them. All three ryobi died ha! They will charge you when I first receive it and then easy. Stop working! This inverter is better in every way. If you know how, they sell a Ryobi 3D printer battery connector for 40V batteries. Or just buy Greenworks batteries. I heard they aren't that bad either!
