Application Tips (for lasting wear)

I bought and installed this tape almost two months ago and it still looks good, no corners are peeling or anything. It's still as sticky as when you applied it. I have a few suggestions for those unfamiliar with tape on exterior surfaces.1. Make sure it's not too cold. I applied my tape when it was over 50 degrees. I don't think I would place it on a colder surface such as B. Metal, which can be much colder than the outside air. The warmer the better (up to a point).2. Make sure the surface is clean. I don't mean just brushing off the dirt, but wiping the surface with a damp cloth until the cloth stops picking up dirt. In other words, if you wipe the surface with a clean rag, no dirt will be left on the rag. I have a faux wood finish so I was able to wipe down the steps with alcohol based window cleaner as well. My steps were *ultra* clean.3. After cutting the ribbon to the right size, I trimmed the corners a bit so there weren't any sharp corners to pick up. Do not excessively touch the sticky side of the tape. This can reduce the stickiness of the glue.5. After lowering, do not lift the belt unnecessarily. Apply firm pressure to the tape, especially around the edges and corners. I went over the tape several times to get a good print. I also posted a photo of the ribbon two months later in cold snowy weather. It looks the same as the first day I put it on. I would buy this product again. That is, if I ever need it again.
