I live in central Texas where the days can often be very hot and the nights can be pretty damn cold. And after some heart problems, I have problems with thermoregulation: I often go to bed in the cold and wake up in the middle of the night in a hot state. I was looking for a lightweight duvet that would be comfortable all night and this seems to be it. Other reviewers have described the fabric, but I'd say it's like a cotton curtain fabric: thicker than a sheet, of course, but not at all like a thermal blanket, and unpadded like a quilt or duvet. It's just a thick piece of cotton in a lovely cream color. Anyway, I've been using it for a couple of weeks and it seems to suit me. Enough that I order a second one to change into with the occasional wash. (It washes well with the sheets.) We have a few "thermal" comforters that are on the way to second hand because they are much higher quality linens.
