This is not a door closer. You must physically push the door for the latch to engage, and then you must push the door for the latch to open it. In fact, it is a magnetic latch. The plastic is strong. Mounting screws are not supplied. So plan on visiting the store when you buy one to get it. It comes with a screw to secure the latch that the magnet sticks to. The lack of mounting screws and the need to try them on my cabinet resulted in a lower rating. There are also no instructions on how to adjust or install the latch.
