Installation is a pain, but it looks and works well once you install it.

When we opened the product we found that both shock absorbers were defective (seems to be a common problem). I have emailed the company (still waiting for a replacement) to get a replacement but I expect it will take some time. We've looked at hardware stores and online for replacements, but this requires them to be custom made as we couldn't find a replacement. We started the installation while waiting for the shocks to be replaced. There is no mounting template included, so be prepared to make or measure your own. The company could really improve by adding a template. The lashing material provided was not sufficient for the upper attachment due to the high weight. We solved this problem by buying different screws and some nuts to mount on our cabinet. The instructions are weak, but the husband is super handy, so we figured it out. The duct is actually 7.5" in diameter, not 8", so a standard 6" to 8" adapter will not fit. Most American homes are equipped with 6 inch screens. We solved this problem by lengthening the 8" side of the reducer to fit the device. The 8 inch duct that comes with the device is very flimsy and can easily be punctured or torn. So we went straight from the adapter unit and used our own 6 inch duct to get to the outlet. After testing, we found that the fan is quiet and very powerful. It looks so good with our new cabinets. I'm still waiting to try that when we get the kitchen back together, so I'll update once we have some work time.
