Review on 🚣 IKURAM R Kayak/Surf/Ski Roof Carrier Rack - Premier J-Style Folding 4-in-1 for Canoe, SUP, Kayaks, Surfboard and Ski Board Rooftop Mount on SUV, Car and Truck - Enhance Your Outdoor Adventures! by Tony Wilson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great idea, but usability is a secondary use case at best.

This thing is really well designed and well built. The problem with this is that its usefulness is very limited to cases where: 1. The user has a vehicle short enough for one person to lift the kayak halfway up the roof, or 2. There are always two 6'5" people to load the kayaks. The idea of an accessible rack for two kayaks is great, but if you're using any off-road vehicle (I have a 2018 Chevy Traverse), the secure position of the rack makes it impossible to use the Load boats without climbing onto your vehicle without the help of a second person lifting the stern while doing so.Second, having a vertical post that can mount both boats makes strap positioning a nightmare.Once the first boat is loaded, you have to secure the strap and then hope it doesn't move (on a rounded surface) while you load the second boat If it slips you literally have to climb onto the roof of your car to re-e.g position u. Much better would be to have two tie down loops on the inside of the top radius of the vertical beam to allow the straps for both boats to be attached prior to loading. Just my opinion as I said this is a great product if you are quite tall with a short craft like the Outback and always kayak in pairs. I'm still giving four stars even though I'm returning it and using Yakima JayHooks. This is a great product for the right use case.
