Very quick to wear

I used them to clean an old bronze candle holder that was worn for centuries. They wear out quickly because little material is removed. they aggressively scraped at my target. However, they are probably excellent for cleaning the surface of a gasket on an iron engine block. I might not even risk them on aluminum. I bought a set of similar strips for a Dremel tool at the same time. They did better in every way.
