Review on EVIL ENERGY Baffled Oil Catch Can Reservoir Kit | Red Aluminum Tank with Fuel Line - 300ml Capacity by Mario Beaklini

Quality control can

Okay, I figured it would be a hit or miss. And while the can itself is well made and looks very decent for the money, the QC is pretty poor. Which I think is to be expected at this price. I expected to have to remove chips and burrs. However, the main reason I bought it was the baffle. You're supposed to be able to pop the baffle open and fill it with the included steel wool (I would suggest tossing out the cheap wool that comes with it and replacing it with copper wool). But mine doesn't allow it. The partition is removable but cannot be opened. It's a solid piece of aluminum that cannot be opened to put wool inside. So quality control somehow didn't notice this egregious error. Hooray, thanks for the wool! What should I do about it? UPDATE: On April 4th the seller contacted me and offered a free replacement. I've been told that black units don't always have a modified baffle. Some do and some don't. However, the blues always have a baffle that you can open to fill with wool. So they sent me a blue one and of course the baffle can be removed and opened up so you can fill it with the yarn provided! I changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Why not 5 stars? Why are you selling 2 different products as the same? Why do some of them have separate partitions and others don't? There are also clear differences in the processing quality. The black had burrs on all threads. The cylinder seal was very small. And the probe was a solid stick with no markings. The blue was very clean and all the carvings were smooth. The cylinder gasket was twice as thick and coated with assembly grease for easier assembly. And the dipstick is graduated so you can see your oil level. I'm just really worried about the black probes clogging or overshooting if you get a split septum. And it annoys me that the difference between blue and black is more than just color. One clearly had much better quality control than the others. And one could imagine the graduation on the blue measuring rod as a completely different design. So you are again selling multiple products with the same name/number. You may or may not be lucky. Or, if you don't want to play, just buy the blue one.
