We bought this watch for our soon to be 7 year old because we felt it offered a more appropriate form of communication and was less likely to be lost or damaged. PROS: The watch's battery life is pretty good; while you can listen to 2 hours of music and still have about 40% battery life to chat or send messages to people. Plus, it was pretty easy to set up thanks to the handy step-by-step videos. CONS: The watch doesn't fit the hand snugly even with the last adjustable option, making it a bit annoying and heavy on the hand. The location option is also questionable as the watch is often offline. Overall I think it's age appropriate and perfect if you think your child isn't old enough for a traditional cellphone.
