I have bought about 8 pairs of these shoes in the last 3-4 years. It's pure simplicity: thin vulcanized sole, pure suede, triple stitching on the toes - nothing fancy. The thin sole and the soft socks give you good board control. The arch support is pretty weak so I usually rip out the insoles and put in store bought ones like Dr. Scholl in the shop, which also gives me more board feeling. Overall, I keep coming back to them for the great price, light weight, and super comfort of the suede. The main weakness of all thin and soft materials is low strength. While I've worn down my toes before, a little shoe goo can easily take care of that. The main problem is that the soles wear out after about 2 months of daily riding (about 6 months for me now that I'm not riding daily). However, in 10 years of skating I have never come across a shoe that has lasted more than 6 months. I don't think it's worth buying a shoe with a thicker sole if you don't have the same level of board control.
