They used to be called percolator brushes because you used them to clean the hose that sent coffee into the coffee basket of your electric or stovetop coffee maker. They're great for cleaning the plastic and stainless steel straws I use in my travel mugs. (Plastic straws seem to slip through and ruin plastic recycling equipment or something. And valet didn't allow soda straws on the National Mall for years -- they said the straws just ended up being trash everywhere.) With a little soap and warm water, I can clean the straws and Avoid mold. Great thing. I didn't think I would need four, but I use one at work too.
