I purchased a different EBL charger a few years back that was USB powered. It worked fine with no complaints, but I let my daughter take it with her when she went away to school last fall. I replaced it with this newer model that has an actual power cord. The battery slots are easier to load thanks to corrugated leads at the positive end that allow you to push until the clicking stops. EBL batteries hold their charge when in use and the power drain when not in use is slow. If you're looking for a rapid charging solution, this is not for you. Charging fully-depleted batteries takes a solid day.
