Review on Aqueon Quietflow Internal Filter Gallon Fish & Aquatic Pets by Tyra Comeaux

Well don't let the small size fool you, this is a BAD** small filter. I had a small filter emergency when money was tight and we were at a family emergency center. Our 15 year old original Fluval 4 failed in a special turtle tank (50+ gallons of water). I ended up modifying it by taking out the blue thing inside and inserting a Fluval sponge. I find that sponges filter better. And I just threw it in the pool without even changing the water (not the best idea, but we were busy and didn't have time to really mess with the pool). At this point the water was so murky that we couldn't even see the turtle. I threw it away hoping to just hold on to more turtle poop until I could properly handle it, but after 2 days the water was crystal clear. I honestly couldn't believe it. I was hoping this would work until I found a used Fluval 4 somewhere (they don't make them anymore). The Fluval U4 replacement filter is different from the original filter and costs over $70. The other tank has a Marineland brand filter which cost us almost $90 (and let me tell you it was a very disappointing purchase). Anyway, this little filter works MUCH better than Marineland and just as well as our old Fluval 4 for a fraction of the cost! I also like his small profile. Our turtle kept ripping the Fluval 4 off the side of its tank. So far she hasn't ripped it off the wall. It's like she doesn't even know he's there! I would definitely buy again.
