Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Gates 34046 Engine Coolant Thermostat with Integrated Housing by Bobby Martinez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works, but the design differs from the original (dealer).

After receiving the thermostat housing and comparing it with the original housing, differences are to be expected. I have attached some photos comparing the original thermostat housing and the Gates thermostat housing. The original is the one that came from the dealer and was never altered before installation. The thermostat works and not a single leak has occurred in a week of use. I'll definitely check the thermostat housing in a few months. I'm sure it will hold up, but the design is definitely different from the original. Fastening clip with plastic housing. The original thermostat housing does not have this. And it looks like the negative mold they made the case from had a possible temperature sensor adapter, which the original didn't have. In the photos the gate thermostat is a copper (bronze) thermostat while the original is a silver thermostat. leave original. Right Gates (Aftermarket. If I had to do it again I would suggest you get the item from Rockauto.com and order this: MAHLE/CLEVITE TI20282. Car I installed the thermostat on: 2005 Mazda 3 Hatchback 2.3 L. Automatic Transmission Hope this review will help anyone looking for a replacement thermostat.
