Does the job - attaches to the filter tube so it extends to the bottom of the tank. To be honest it seems that AquaClear should lengthen its filter hoses first, but that's a criticism of the filter itself, not this product. Agree with other reviews that this is an expensive solution considering it's just a hard plastic tube. But the convenience of a perfect fit without measuring and finding the right size extender is worth the price. Our male rooster is a picky eater and the shorter tube just didn't seem to pick up enough water from the bottom of the tank where his innards normally hide. I'm glad it's available to solve this problem.
