My house is only a couple of years old. The patio door installed was manufactured by Hayfield Windows and is a standard 6' sliding door. After reviewing the specs of this replacement sliding door handle and the specs of my patio door. it looked to be a perfect match, and it was. The reason for replacement was the old patio door handle didn't have a lockset. I wanted a door handle with a lockset so I could leave my house through the patio door and lock it up securely. The swap between the old patio door handle and the new one took only a few minutes, and without any issues. If you have an older patio door you might not be as lucky with the swap. I am very happy with the overall quality of the new handle. It is basically the same as what I had, only with a lockset. I recommend this product.
