Perfect for Connecting a Hose to My Laundry Room Faucet

The new high efficiency laundry washing machines drive me nuts because they use minimal water to wash clothes and don't get anything clean! For years I have used a hose connected to my faucet to help add water to the washer each time I do a load of laundry, but it is a pain to connect the hose to the faucet and then disconnect when I need to use the faucet. Enter this lovely diverter! Now, my hose is always connected to the faucet and ready to add water to the washing machine, and the faucet is still completely functional when I need to use the laundry room sink! I just move the lever and voilà, water is diverted to the washing machine and back to the sink whenever I need. The diverter connected perfectly to my sink with no adapters. I did have to add an adapter so I could connect the hose to the diverter, but that was not a big deal at all. I had to screw and unscrew the diverter a few times to make sure I had the threading aligned perfectly so it wouldn't leak. Once I had the threading aligned perfectly, there were no leaks anywhere! I love it! I hope this diverter lasts for many years! This did not come with any instructions, just a little box with a generic label, the diverter and an extra o-ring; but it's easy to figure out how to connect, and I would say you definitely need to be prepared to go to your home improvement store to find an adapter that will allow you to connect this diverter to your hose, and possibly also to your faucet. In my opinion, it is completely worth it!

Pros
  • It works great. Exactly what we needed
Cons
  • While the kit's high-quality screen and nut insert adapter may provide better water filtration, the kit's restrictor could result in reduced water pressure and flow, making tasks like dishwashing and handwashing more time-consuming
