Review on 🚴 Enhance Performance with Vittoria Air Liner Insert Green Extra by Darion Wooten

I have a medium 2.5" model for my Stans Baron (35mm internal width) with Rocket Ron's 27.5x2.8 sealed tubeless tires. The insert has a gap between the tires of about 4-6 mm. It fits perfectly and the insert doesn't dangle inward once you clip it to the right size. Each insert weighs 213 grams and is cut to fit 27.5 (or 650b) rims. I ran my tires at 0 and 5-8psi to see if they could be used as runflat tires and yes you can! The tire stayed on the bead and I was able to climb the hill in slow motion. Descending downhill was also slow as it was twisty around corners, but you can use it as a run-flat tire without hitting the rims. My normal psi is 12 to 14 and I use it on my Guerrilla Gravity Pedalhed 27.5+. Those square rocks and roots don't scare me anymore. I never hear/feel the rims flex when I hit these obstacles. The weight is noticeable, especially when I reduce the pressure per square inch when I'm running the inserts fairly well. It's punchy, but when I pump it up to over 13psi the tire doesn't move at all. I set my psi to 12 and by the end of the trip my psi goes up to 14, especially on warm days. Without the insert, the pressure increases by a maximum of 0.6 psi, so with the insert it is only 12.6 psi instead of 14 psi. I chose the Rocket Rons in the rear because it only weighs 777 grams + 213 grams to insert and I get good braking and cornering grip since I have low psi, but it doesn't feel stringy like my Purgatory 2.6 ( 960 grams). without insert at 16 psi. My front tires are Butcher Gripton Grid 2.8. The psi is low because I'm light at 145 pounds and I ride light. Updated: 10/29/19. I tried this insert on my 2019 Stumpjumper Expert 27.5 full suspension bike and found the rear end to bounce a lot. . I didn't notice that with my hardtail (pedalhead) because it has to be springy (hardtail). The rebound comes from very dense foam and I am walking on the foam rather than the air in the tire at 12psi (rear). I compared the ride quality of this model to the Huck Norris, and the Huck is better in terms of traction because you can go 12psi without feeling bouncy. It's like running at 12psi without an insert until you put the tire down and feel the foam protecting the rim/tire. Air liner protects your rims and tires better from pinching, but for elasticity (handling) I would go for a thinner liner like CushCore or Huck Norris.
