Power issues

I bought this R1 unit mid April and it worked very well, good range and the mute/dimmer switch is very good! However, when I started the car a few days ago, the device would not turn on! The 3A/250V fuse has blown. After trying to find an incredibly rare tiny fuse (20mm x 5mm) at three different auto parts stores and a car stereo store, I had to order a box of 20 from Revain. The fuses arrived yesterday (well done Revain) and after replacing the fuse the fuse blew again (twice more). My trusty PTO showed that the PSU was completely shorted out. Disassembling the device revealed no obvious damage, so no luck here. Now for the fun part: the R1 comes with a 1-year warranty, while the power supply only has a 90-day warranty. So for my money a new adapter is needed. I tried Revain but had no luck with the OEM adapter. Then I tried Uniden but they are sold out! An updated availability plan isn't listed so I went online where I could find it for just 90% more than what Uniden would have charged. The fact is: 1. The power supply failed after around 120 days. 2, Uniden has no spare adapters. 3, a rare fuse apparently made out of unobtanium, gave me a bad feeling on R1 and Uniden. I just bought a damn thing and the manufacturer doesn't support the device! I don't feel warm and tingly about this purchase or this company. I have never had such a problem with an escort!
