I'm familiar with velcro sandals but I've never had a closed toe like this and was curious to try it. I like that I can put them on quickly without having to tighten the elastic strap if I only need something quick, but I can tighten them for a snug fit if I wear them for a while. I've spent quite a bit of time in them over the past few days, including reasonably long distances and outside in fairly warm weather, and they've been really comfortable. The grip is good, the instep mechanism is easy, and I'm looking forward to it if it doesn't fill up with lint and dirt like velcro sandals eventually do. They appear to be well made with no visible imperfections, marks or other issues. Be sure to enjoy them and expect them to be in regular rotation for a long time to come.
