I bought these shoes to replace my Five Ten Canyoneer 3 boots which have fallen apart after years of regular whitewater kayaking. I was impressed with the durability and protection, particularly the Terrex Hydro_Lace ankle protection and arch support. This makes walking and carrying boulders easier with a heavy kayak than with other more flexible shoes. The boot also has a harder outer coating and a few stitches (at least visible) which are often the weak points of other water shoes. However, I was not impressed by the lack of drainage in the shoe. If I enter the water above the ankle, the water enters the boot and doesn't escape. This makes the boot heavy after a while and makes my feet get cold. I think the boot is great for walking in shallow water, but it doesn't do well in deeper water when the boot is fully submerged.
