together to upgrade my home network backbone to 1G to cover 4 corners of the house. This particular 8-port switch is in a home entertainment center, so there's a lot of streaming and data usage. The switch worked great. Read on for how I rated the switch. - They are very small and light, much smaller than the impression when looking at the pictures. --Nothing else needs to be installed, then plug in and turn on. -- Connects to all 8 ports almost instantly. I reach back to plug it in and look from the front and all the connectors are connected. -- The Ethernet ports on the back are well labeled and the numbers are easy to read. -- What's really handy is that the LEDs on the front are physically aligned with the connector on the back. Lots of other switches change order, and that's annoying. On this switch, draw a line from the port LEDs to the port to find out which port was the activity light. Big! -- Headlights are clearly visible. Ports are divided into two levels: one that is 1G and one that is 100 meters away. -- На других коммутаторах, которые я использовал при таком каскадировании, по-видимому, было некоторое ограничение на количество каскадов, но с ними и в моей сети все они работали kein Problem. --Very very light and easily attached to a desk with double-sided foam tape and held in place when connecting cables. - And what about the speed characteristics? I used all 8 ports to power up a TV, Blu-ray player and 2 home security DVRs that (all 100M ports) stream video for this test. The TV and Blu-ray stream 4K UHD videos. In addition, I have a laptop (with a 1G port) and an R6700 router (also with a 1G port) and 2 standalone IP surveillance cameras (100M ports). The port LED colors were correct: green for router and PC and amber for all others. I didn't notice any difference in the 4K streaming UI or video performance when connected through an 8-port switch or directly to a router. Every device connected through the switch worked flawlessly without the slightest hint of data slowdown. I ran a speed test from my broadband PC and got the maximum data transfer rate provided by the ISP. One thing could be improved: - I wish there was something to attach them to the surface. There are no mounting holes. This is a small smooth box. Conclusion: Except for the double-sided mounting tape, a perfect, fast and economical 1G plug and play switch.
