After replacing both mirrors on my 2002 F250 with non-original 2008 style mirrors, I found that the original switch had also failed and in particular would not reliably move to the right without much wobbling. OEM part, direct replacement, it took about 2-3 minutes to install. Pull out the driver's door panel, disconnect the mirror switch, slide out the old mirror switch (large curved needle nose pliers helped remove the stubborn 18 year old clips), snap the new one in place, plug in the wire, plug in put the panel back in the door and it's as good as new!
