Quick question? Is anyone using the metal chip cover that came with the card? It looks to me like the chip is getting too hot, but I'm not sure how much heat the card is currently putting out. Is there a temperature sensor on the card? I have a Gigabyte X270MX motherboard with PCIe x16, 2x8, 1x4 and 1x1 slots with the GPU locked in x16. I bought this card and Intel 9260NGW No V-Pro. I have an x8 to work with and since x1 should work in any PCIe slot I started with that and couldn't get Win10x64 to see the Intel 9260ac. Bluetooth module was detected, but no WLAN. My Thunderbolt3 card is used in the last x4 slot on my board and needs to be in that slot to work. I pulled out and plugged in my TB3 card and Windows recognized everything immediately with great signal and no issues. .I wish I knew this wouldn't work in a x8 slot. I tested the M.2 PCI card slot with a WD SSD and the x8 slot works fine. I've tried every setting in the bios to find out and have given up so far. I have a U.2 connector that I could use, but would need to buy the connector and some sort of adapter to make it work. Thank you Intel for providing us with such a strange card format that requires skill to install. . Kind of stupid. I've checked all the forums to see if anyone else is having this problem and I think it's just me. I've seen a lot of people saying they can get BT working but no WIFI so maybe they haven't tried other slots on their motherboard. There must be some logic as to why this card only works in certain PCIe slots.
