Installation issues but works in correct PCIe slot

Quick question? Is anyone using the metal chip cover that came with the card? It looks to me like the chip is getting too hot, but I'm not sure how much heat the card is currently putting out. Is there a temperature sensor on the card? I have a Gigabyte X270MX motherboard with PCIe x16, 2x8, 1x4 and 1x1 slots with the GPU locked in x16. I bought this card and Intel 9260NGW No V-Pro. I have an x8 to work with and since x1 should work in any PCIe slot I started with that and couldn't get Win10x64

Pros
  • Ease of installation
Cons
  • Frequency

I have a desktop with an old but still technically up-to-date motherboard that I needed to add WiFi to. After reading about the various options, I decided that I wanted to add an Intel 9260 Wi-Fi card due to its superior performance over other options, including my original intended purchase, the TP Link Archer T6E, which the reviews cite Loved the 9260 After deciding on the 9260 I decided on this adapter, Fenvi, to convert the 9260 after asking here at Revain if it would be compatible with the

Problems with shutdown with card installed

I have a triple boot system and all three operating systems shut down without problems. I installed this card and it works, but I can't disable any of the three operating systems. The system shut down for a few seconds and then restarted. I also had a hard time turning off the system by holding down the power button. Once the card was removed, the system powered down as it should. Also, the wires used to connect the antennas to the card are so tiny that I broke one of the ends trying to connect

Surprisingly it works and it works well

One of the most frustrating things about technology is that technology moves so fast that what you buy today will be outdated tomorrow and I often end up on outdated specs come across, and I need updating. This applied to the wireless network protocol, like the Bluetooth version. This card in particular is a great and expensive way to keep updates going cheaply. All I have to do is update the Intel Bluetooth wireless card and I'm back up to speed. As with many things made in China, I was…

Saves money if you already have a WiFi card

WiFi with 802.11ac and Bluetooth works great with a WiFi card I already had on hand from a bad laptop. Antenna connections - although these connections are never easy on laptops. I was lucky enough to press down on the connectors with a small pointed screwdriver before screwing in the adapter for easier access. I also attached a metal plate as I assume this is to limit RF interference from the rest of the system. Bluetooth works by connecting the card's Bluetooth connector to an exposed USB 2.0

Good for slower connections

I got the Killer card version for it and while Killer works really well in a laptop with this adapter it's SO SO. I have a Wifi 6 router and wanted to replace the Edimax USB power adapters my kids were using. I bought two sets of these adapters and killer cards. First, the connection is lame. Sometimes I connect with 300 Mbit/s, sometimes with 1xx Mbit/s. The speeds on iPerf are also everywhere, but only a fraction of what I should be getting. The Edimax USB adapter is amazing even though it's…

Works great but as mentioned doesn't work in an X16 slot

I took this card to convert an existing M.2 AX200 to an Ubuntu desktop which I use as an IoT gateway. It immediately showed up in the PCI list, but the driver couldn't invoke the interface. I've tried several rounds of different drivers and even upgraded the kernel to a custom 5.2 build. I tried both the main drivers and those provided by Intel. The driver always failed to load. I finally found an article dedicated to this problem. Apparently there is a built in synchronization error in the…

THAT DOES NOT WORK? Read here!

So I spent a lot of time troubleshooting and finally figured it out. does not support it (yet!). The symptoms for me were an absolute lack of card recognition either in Windows or in my motherboard's system view. In my case, my motherboard was an ASRock Z87 Extreme3. After many many bug fixes, I found that updating the BIOS specifically fixes this issue, for example: UPDATE: Improved M.2 compatibility when using a PCIe M.2 adapter. If you're having the same symptoms as me, visit your…

This overview applies to the NGFF PCE adapter. .

This review is for the NGFF to PCIE Adapter. This adapter works great in combination with my Intel 8265 wireless chip. I haven't tested full internet speeds, but in the 5GHz band I maximize internet upload speeds (75MB/s). As one of the other reviews says, the tiny clips for connecting the adapter to your wireless card can be an issue, but stick with it and you'll eventually snap them into place. One star because of the extremely bright green LED on the back of the kart. So bright I had to wrap
