Review on πŸ”Œ PAC RP5-GM11 Interface: OnStar Retention, Steering Wheel Control, Navigation Outputs for Select GM Class II Vehicles by Doug Layman

The only adapter worth buying for this app!

I've used similar adapters before but this one was much easier to work with. It installed (I also have experience as a professional installer) in an 04 Silverado without any major problems. I like that the ringer is adjustable, the ports feel good, and the steering wheel controls work really well. The call takes a little getting used to, but the volume can be regulated differently than from the factory. This adapter can be intimidating, but the instructions are pretty well written. It definitely helps to have prior knowledge, so it might not be a bad idea to seek professional help or at least consult YouTube. Since the unit is bulky, it might be worth taking the radio out for a replacement and checking how much space is left inside before ordering. My truck had plenty of hiding space and the cables were long enough to fit in the cavity behind the dash, but it can get tight.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
